Listastofan seeks new curators to assemble progressive and responsive contemporary art programming for the local community, as well as nurture contributing artist relationships with local artists. These volunteers will begin shadowing the current curators, assisting artists with install/pack-down and learning about our ongoing exhibitions.
We expect that candidates for this role have experience in a curatorial role, particularly from the perspective of a emerging/working artist. As a Curator, you will bring your vision and experience to the development of an ambitious program of contemporary art and practice.
Additional job responsibilities include: Maintaining the physical appearance of the gallery space, and actively using knowledge of current artwork handling, installation and documentation techniques. Excellent copy writing, digital literacy, and communication skills are a must (with fluency in Icelandic language an advantage).
This position is unpaid and on a volunteer basis for year 2017, but pay is subject to change as a condition of our grant applications to fund this operation.
Please email (firstname.lastname@example.org) a resume and briefly (in 2-3 sentences) introduce yourself. Notification to all applicants for scheduling interviews will go out by February 1.
